Published Sep 12, 2018As if Norm Macdonald wasn't getting enough backlash over his controversial comments about the #MeToo movement and his defence of Roseanne Barr and Louis C.K., the comedian has decided that perhaps the best way to dig himself out of his hole was to make a joke about Down syndrome.
Today Macdonald appeared on The Howard Stern Show, where the comedian discussed the fast and furious backlash he's got this week over his controversial comments. While attempting to smooth things over, Macdonald said "You'd have to have Down syndrome to not feel sorry" for victims of sexual abuse.
He then doubled down on that by saying Down syndrome is "my new word."

As previously reported, Macdonald voiced sympathy and support for Roseanne Barr, Louis C.K. and Chris Hardwick while speaking to The Hollywood Reporter this week. He already issued an apology for what he said, but we're guessing this latest Stern interview isn't going to do him any favours.
Norm Macdonald Has a Show is still scheduled to premiere on Netflix on Friday (September 14) — at least for now.
