Published Jul 21, 2020While the rest of us have been focusing on, well, other things, comic book movie fans have been obsessed with what could have been regarding Zack Snyder's shitty Justice League movie. Based on the belief that a better version existed as a director's cut, the #ReleasetheSnyderCut movement was born. HBO Max caved, and the "Snyder Cut" is set to arrive next year.
Whether or not the "Snyder Cut" is any good, we can rest assured that it will be very, very long. Zack previously said that the runtime was 214 minutes, but now he's tinkering with the project more and says it will be even longer.
In an interview with Beyond the Trailer [via NME], Snyder said that his cut is expanding.
"I famously advertised the runtime at 214 minutes," he said. "Now, in its current state, it's going to end up being longer than that yet… [it's] exciting to bring all this new material to the fans."
The initial Justice League, which was completed by Joss Whedon in post-production, ran 120 minutes so we can expect plenty of previously unseen footage when the "Snyder Cut" emerges next year.
