Tom Hanks Is Premiering His New Movie 'Greyhound' on Apple TV+
Tom Hanks is bringing his new WWII drama Greyhound directly to Apple TV+

Both written by and starring Hanks, the film was originally set to arrive in theatres via Sony Pictures on Father's Day weekend, but it will now premiere directly on Apple TV+, Deadline reports.

So far, no firm premiere date has been revealed, but it will mark Hanks first film project since his COVID-19 diagnosis. Since then, he's also gone on to host Saturday Night Live.

UPDATE (6/11, 5:20 p.m. ET): Greyhound is now scheduled to premiere on Apple TV+ on July 10.

Based on true events, Greyhound will find Hanks playing George Krause — a career navy officer finally given command of the destroyer Greyhound during the Battle of the Atlantic in the Second World War.

The film is based on a novel by C.S. Forester, with the screenplay then adapted by Hanks. Directing Greyhound is Aaron Schneider.
