Published Aug 22, 2012As previously reported, former Hüsker Dü/Sugar leader Bob Mould continues on his solo journey this fall with the release of Silver Age. Earlier this month, we got a taste of the collection, which sees release September 4 through Merge, when the label delivered power pop buzzer "Descent," and now Mould has come through with visuals for the hook-heavy tune.
The anti-office sentiment of Mould's lyric "I turned my back, I turned away / Here's the rope that made me choke" gets beefed up in the video treatment, with the alt-rock singer-songwriter standing atop a building with a box of work belongings, seemingly ready to take a nosedive. Instead, he high-tails it to an elevator full of judgmental co-workers and heads to the nearest forest. From there, he burns all his possessions, rips off his sleeves, and sets up a new life in his freshly built twig hut.
