Published Jan 31, 2011Hüsker Dü may not have enjoyed the same life of rock'n'roll excess as, say, Mötley Crüe, but the band members no doubt have some crazy stories from their years in the industry. That's why we're excited to report that singer/guitarist Bob Mould is getting set to release an autobiography.
The book is called See a Little Light: The Trail of Rage and Melody, which is due out on June 15 via Little, Brown and Company. According to the publisher [via Slicing Up Eyeballs], it will deal with Mould's "struggles with homosexuality, intimate relationships and drug and alcohol addiction." It will initially be available as a 288-page hardcover.
The book will chronicle Mould's time with Hüsker Dü, as well as his solo career, and his '90s band Sugar. Mould's non-musical life has been interesting as well; he had a stint as a scriptwriter for the pro-wrestling federation WCW, and he has spoken out in favour of same-sex marriage.
See a Little Light takes its title from a song that appeared on Mould's 1989 solo debut, Workbook. The book was co-authored by Michael Azerrad, who previously penned Our Band Could be Your Life: Scenes From the American Indie Underground, 1981-1991.
See a Little Light will be further reading for those who enjoyed last year's biography, Hüsker Dü: The Story of the Noise-Pop Pioneers Who Launched Modern Rock.
In other Mould news, he will reportedly soon embark upon a mini-tour, hitting up NYC, San Francisco, Austin and Washington, but no dates have been confirmed.
