Tucker Carlson Reacting to "WAP" Is Apocalyptic Comedy at Its Best
Published Aug 19, 2020Now that Ben Shapiro has tested out his Cardi B karaoke skills for the world to gawk at, Fox News commentator Tucker Carlson has taken his turn demonizing her extremely popular Megan Thee Stallion collaboration, "WAP." Sadly, you won't get to hear Carlson's on-air cover, but you can hear him weaponize his moralistic views on women's sexuality against the political left — for comedy!
In a news segment titled "Degrading Song Celebrated by the Left," Carlson attempts to make "WAP" — an acronym for "wet-ass pussy" — somehow presidential candidate Joe Biden's fault, insinuating that he has been sucking up to Cardi for taking an interview with her ahead of this year's American election.
Tucker also called the song "garbage" adding that, "it's aimed at young American girls — maybe your girls, your granddaughters and what is it doing to them? Can you imagine what it's doing to them?" He also suggested that Cardi B is trying to make women "more useful sex objects" before showing a clip from her Instagram, where the rapper speaks at length about vaginal health.
"We can't tell you what it stands for. We literally can't tell you what the name of the song is, much less its lyrics," Carlson said in the segment, desperately trying to avoid saying the word "pussy" while commenting on the song.
"We're not being prudish here. This is not James Brown being sexually suggestive on stage," he continued. "Go online right now and look up the lyrics to this song. And then ask yourself if you were Joe Biden, would you suck up to the person who sang it and ask yourself above all, and ask it more than once, what is this doing to our kids?"
While this is all desperately funny, it's also pretty dire. Not only is Carlson attempting to empower President Donald Trump by taking aim at his opposition, here he is also advocating for further repression of women's sexuality and sexual health.
So please, laugh at his hilariously out-of-touch views, but also take the time to understand what Fox News is attempting to push here — because it's not just about "the kids."
